My Craft Founded — A New Chapter for Disability Inclusion in Chouf

SCALE established My Craft in Bchatfine, Chouf, launching a vocational training and rehabilitation centre dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities and vulnerable communities.

In 2018, SCALE — a Lebanese NGO committed to social development and inclusion — established My Craft in Bchatfine, Chouf, with a clear and ambitious mission: to empower persons with disabilities through vocational training, rehabilitation services, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Located in the heart of the Chouf region, My Craft was designed from the outset to be more than a training centre. It is a community hub — a place where dignity is celebrated, creativity is nurtured, and independence is built one skill at a time.

From its earliest days, My Craft pursued formal recognition from Lebanon's Ministry of Education, ultimately receiving a licence from the General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education (DGVTE) — a milestone that validated its curriculum and opened doors to broader support.

The founding of My Craft responded to a gap that SCALE had long observed: persons with disabilities in Lebanon faced significant barriers to formal education and employment, yet possessed enormous talent and determination. My Craft was built to bridge that gap.

Seven years on, My Craft has trained 130+ beneficiaries, produced 50+ prosthetic devices annually, launched 15+ income projects, and reached 2,000+ community members each year. The journey that began in 2018 continues — growing, deepening, and extending its reach across Lebanon.
